The Challenge

The recent renovations at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia, ushered in a new era of embracing their ever-sophisticated guests and their constantly evolving needs. The property is known for being a premiere event space in Atlanta, however, the room and work-spaces technology improvements needed to be echoed in the reception, lobby, meeting and events areas as well. IHG was looking to modernize and introduce tech-augmented solutions that would visually stimulate, promote efficiency, and improve guest experience. Achieving modernization would tie in well with the updated customizable meeting rooms, tranquil outdoor settings, and world-class design, culminating in an unmatched on-site experience for guests and visitors.

The Solution

22Miles spearheaded the implementation of a series of dynamic enhancements of digital signage or hotels including event boards, meeting directory and room boards, interactive bellstand, and interactive wayfinding kiosks, all of which were connected to a central content management system. The company also empowered Crowne Plaza staff with training to allow them to easily make regular content updates internally. The 22Miles technical team also worked with IHG’s staff to seamlessly integrate with existing Delphi.fdc and connect Android-based Mimo tablets. Additionally, integration with Intel NUC players for the facility’s larger displays was initiated, and social media mainstay Instagram as well as real-time GPS tracking capability. 22Miles partner BSC designed the aesthetic enclosures and LG screens were used for the large displays. The complete solution provided the property with the capability to instantly and dynamically give visitors and guests up-to-date schedules, locations and event details. 22Miles is an IHG corporate-approved solution provider, with installations in over fifteen properties. The company is also the first Delphi approved digital signage vendor on IHG’s Marketplace (IHG’s internal approved vendors recommendation platform).

The IHG team was quickly comfortable using the deployed solution and managing it with backup support from 22Miles. Once Crowne Plaza’s digital transformation phase was complete, the technology adoption began to grow day by day. Overall usage is measured by the integrated analytics tools included in the 22Miles solution. The launch was a definite success.
