We Won The Best Digital Signage Project Award!

We’re proud to share that 22Miles was awarded the HETMA Best Digital Signage Project Award at InfoComm 2025 for our work with the Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama. This recognition celebrates our collaborative effort to transform campus communication and navigation through an innovative, fully integrated digital signage and wayfinding solution.

By replacing outdated systems with a centralized CMS, interactive 3D wayfinding, real-time event integration, and mobile accessibility, the college now delivers a modern, seamless experience for students, staff, and visitors. The result is a smart campus environment where information is dynamic, navigation is intuitive, and engagement is elevated.

This project stands as a model for how higher education institutions can future-proof their digital infrastructure and meet the evolving needs of campus communities.

A big thank you to HETMA for the recognition and to the University of Alabama for partnering with us to bring their vision to life.

The Finding Your Perfect CMS Match Panel: Future-Proofing Your Digital Signage Strategy

One of the most insightful sessions at InfoComm 2025 was the panel discussion “Finding Your Perfect CMS Match,” featuring 22Miles VP of Sales Kathy Isaacs alongside Jason Ault (Coffman Media), Darryl Kuder (Red Dot Digital Media), and Lex Evans (USC). This dynamic session offered attendees practical guidance for evaluating and selecting a CMS partner that can support long-term growth, adapt to evolving needs, and avoid costly missteps.

Kathy Isaacs emphasized the importance of entering a CMS selection process with clarity and purpose:

“We call it future-proofing. You may just be looking at non-touch digital signage, but then you’re going to want wayfinding down the road. Maybe a video wall. You have to think to yourself, what do we want today, what are we trying to do, what do we want our users to do, both CMS users and those using the signage? How can we find a way to do all of that?”
Kathy Isaacs
Vice President of Sales

The panel explored key evaluation criteria, from API-first architecture to integration capabilities and contract strategies like capping annual cost increases. Isaacs encouraged institutions and organizations to think holistically, across departments, and about future use cases:

“Are you going to need to integrate into your emergency system? Maybe PowerBi? How is marketing going to use it? Facilities? Security? You want a CMS that can grow with you and provide flexible workflows across users and departments.”

Lex Evans from USC added a cautionary tale, reflecting on mistakes made by rushing into a CMS decision that ultimately didn’t support the scale and complexity of a large university. The lesson? It’s never too late to course correct. With the right strategy, switching CMS providers is possible. For those facing this challenge, check out our blog on how to switch digital signage providers.

Isaacs also highlighted the importance of choosing a partner who prioritizes hands-on support:

Ultimately, this session empowered attendees to have deeper, more informed conversations with CMS vendors on the show floor, ensuring the decisions they make today can stand the test of time.

“Tech support and training are key. You want a provider who understands the learning curve and can train you and your team to properly use the signage.”
Kathy Isaacs
Vice President of Sales

Navigating InfoComm with Ease: Real-Time Wayfinding in Action

One of the standout highlights of the 22Miles presence at InfoComm 2025 was our real-time InfoComm Wayfinding App and Kiosk, which brought our advanced digital navigation technology to life on the show floor. Designed specifically for large-scale events, the interactive kiosk and mobile app gave attendees an intuitive, stress-free way to find booths, sessions, lounges, and more throughout the convention center.

By integrating AI-powered navigation, real-time updates, and mobile accessibility, our solution showcased how modern wayfinding can transform the trade show experience, not just for event organizers but for attendees who expect instant, seamless information at their fingertips.

Whether it was scanning a QR code to launch directions on their phone, asking the built-in AI Assistant for help, or visually exploring the layout on the kiosk at our booth, users experienced firsthand how our platform scales to support complex venues with high foot traffic and fast-moving schedules. It was a live demonstration of how mobile-first and intuitive wayfinding isn’t just a future vision, it’s available and working today.

Higher Education Demo with ADA

Our Higher Education demo with ADA highlighted the power of accessibility-first design, showcasing ADA-compliant digital signage that ensures an inclusive experience for every student and visitor. From screen reader compatibility and captions for multimedia content to simple, jargon-free language, the solution is built to accommodate a wide range of needs, supporting blind or low-vision users, those who are deaf or hard of hearing, and students with cognitive disabilities.

The user interface features large buttons, voice-control options, and touchless interaction via mobile integration, making it easy for individuals with fine motor impairments or limited mobility to engage with content in a way that works best for them.

Visual accessibility was also a major focus, with high-contrast colors, readable fonts, adjustable brightness, and colorblind-friendly design elements ensuring clarity for all users. Together, these features illustrated how 22Miles helps higher education institutions deliver digital signage that prioritizes equity, safety, and ease of use across the entire campus environment.

The Theme Park Wayfinding demo also highlighted ADA-compliant features, ensuring accessible navigation for all park guests, including those with mobility or visual impairments. With dynamic pathfinding, interactive ride and restaurant filters, and responsive touch or mobile control, guests can explore the park and plan their experience in real-time.

Whether helping families find their next thrill ride or guiding visitors to food and rest areas, the demo demonstrated how 22Miles’ platform brings engaging, intelligent, and inclusive wayfinding to the theme park environment.

Employee Office Suite: Powering the Modern Workplace with Microsoft Integration

Whether accessed through digital signage, desktop, or Neat tablets, the experience was smooth, responsive, and built to scale across corporate campuses and hybrid office environments.

The 22Miles and Microsoft integration goes beyond room booking; it creates a centralized communication hub that simplifies navigation, boosts productivity, and delivers a seamless digital experience across departments and locations.
